Here are what some of the other challengers have been doing or have planned ....

Queen Margaret College, Wellington

The Technology department at Queen Margaret College recently held their biannual fashion parade fundraiser and raised in excess of $1000 for the Trust.

The parade showcased fashion garments produced by Y10-13 Materials Technology students, Wearable Art Fashion by Y2 and some Y6 students, musical items by senior Music Dept students, the latest fashion range by 'Basquesse' (Custom House Quay, Wellington), and the latest fashion range by emerging local designer 'Sophie Burrowes' (QMC Old Girl). The event was hosted by QMC students and was an assessment situation for some senior NCEA classes.

Fantastic music, a 'feel good vibe', a supportive audience and the collective amazing work of both senior and junior students made the event a huge success.

Trelise Cooper visited Queen Margaret College, on behalf of the Breast Cancer Research Trust and thanked the College for their outstanding effort.

KATY ATKINSON - Cycling for a CURE Challenge

As a third year physical education student at Otago University, this year I am lucky enough to have a lecturer who is involved with breast cancer and exercise research; her work running an exercise clinic for breast cancer patients has really motivated me to think about doing postgraduate study in cancer and exercise. Having this new motivation was what drew me to want to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Cure Research Trust, as I believe that they are working towards a very worthy cause.

When I was in my final year of high school I organised a month of exercise for breast cancer and ever since then I have wanted to do something similar. So this summer when group of my friends and I decided that we would do the Wattyl Cycle Challenge around Taupo, I thought that this would be the perfect event for which to organise a fundraiser for breast cancer.

MARTIN FEENEY

Martin, cycled the long way to work  - from Wellington!  His aim was to arrive at work in Auckland within 18 days, not only did he make it - raised over $18,000 through sponsorship.

A CURE for Breast Cancer within the next decade - it's ambitious, but together we can find a CURE.
